Bio:  Martin Sorrell has an MBA from Harvard University.

In 1986, Sorrell joined Wire and Plastic Products full time as Chief Executive after privately invested in the wire shopping basket manufacturer a year prior. He went on to buy Ogilvy and Mather in 1989 for $825 million and WPP has acquired Young & Rubicam and Grey, two more global agency networks, since 2000.

Sorrell is the longest-serving CEO of any company featured in the UK’s benchmark FTSE 100 Index as of 2017, having managed WPP since 1985.

In 2007, Sorrell was awarded the Harvard Business School’s Alumni Achievement Award, and in 2015, he was a Trustee of the British Museum.

CEO Fact: Between 2000 and 2009, Blankfein donated around $11 million to charitable organizations. In 2010, the Lloyd and Laura Blankfein Foundation donated $620,000 to Harvard Law School, $500,000 to the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, $50,000 to Barnard College, $46,500 to the Robin Hood Foundation, and $10,000 to Carnegie Hall.
